Denmark is led by first year Coach Mike Pamieri. The Danes are 0-3 but things are looking up for Denmark as NC State commit QB Aaron McLaughlin was able to return from injury last week in a tough loss to Lanier. The Danes were able to put up 27 points against a tough Lanier defense, the most given up by Lanier all season. The offensive momentum will be need in tonight’s match up against a tough Raiders defense.

The Raiders are led by Head Coach Robert Craft who is entering his 5th year as the North Forsyth head man. North Forsyth is off to an impressive 4-0 beating all four non-region opponents Alcovy, Harrison, Hapeville Charter and Etowah. The Raiders early season success has centered around a stingy defense giving up 6.5 ppg average.

I recently had a Q&A with North Forsyth Coach Robert Craft discussing the season to date & tonight’s game. Denmark Coach Palmieri was unavailable for comment.

What is your biggest area of concern about your team heading into this game?

Coach Craft  – “First region game of the year against a great opponent in Denmark. We look forward to the opportunity.”

What has been your team’s strengths that have come to light coming off your early season games?

Coach Craft – “We feel like our defense and our special teams have really played well in our first 4 games of the 2020 season. Those areas again this week will prove to be very important for us to have a chance to be successful.”

Has anyone or anything stood out as the most surprising or unexpected positive during the first games?

Coach Craft – “Senior Safety / Punter Peyton Wagner has played very well in our first 4 games. He has 2 INTs, and has been very consistent punting as well.

Any thoughts on how COVID as impacted the season to date – good or bad or in general?

Coach Craft – ” I am really proud of how our players and coaches have handled all the new guidelines and regulations that have to be followed to help us be able to play in 2020. We are thankful we are playing, and do not want to take anything for granted.

Any final thoughts on the game, the season?

Coach Craft – “All the teams in region 6-7A have really started the season off very well. We look forward to what should be a very competitive race for the 4 playoff spots.”

Thanks to Coach Craft for his time & input. Looks to be a tremendous game, wishing both teams well in tonight’s match up!
